„Tomographic Imaging of Temperature and Chemical Species Based on Hyperspectral Absorption Spectroscopy “

Am 30.05.2012 um 11:00 Uhr wird Dr. Weiwei Cai (Virgina Tech) einen Vortrag im Rahmen des CSI halten, zu dem Sie herzlich eingeladen sind.

Abstract:

This seminar aims to introduce a novel technique developed to obtain simultaneous tomographic images of temperature and concentration of chemical species based on hyperspectral absorption spectroscopy. The hyperspectral tomography technique enables several key advantages when compared to traditional tomography techniques based on limited spectral information. These advantages include a significant reduction in the number of required projection measurements, and an enhanced insensitivity to measurements/inversion uncertainties. These advantages greatly facilitate the practical implementation and application of the hyperspectral tomography technique. This presentation will report the development of this new technique, including the mathematical formulation of the hyperspectral tomographic problems, numerical considerations, and experimental demonstrations. A full-scale sensor demonstrated on a J85 gas turbine engine with a temporal resolution up to 50 kHz represents the state-of-the-art of this technique. The spatial and temporal resolution enabled by this new sensing technique is expected to resolve several key issues in practical combustion devices.
